We are thrilled to announce that a dedicated Year 11 student has achieved outstanding success in the 2026 ASX Schools Sharemarket Game 2, taking home both the Queensland State Prize (1st Place) and the National Second Prize (2nd Place)! This incredible achievement saw them outperform thousands of students from across Australia, demonstrating some seriously savvy investment skills!
As part of their Senior Business studies, students elected to participate in the ASX Schools Sharemarket Game, an exciting opportunity for students across Australia to experience the thrills, challenges and complexities of the sharemarket firsthand.
Each participant is given a hypothetical $50,000 to invest, with the challenge of growing their portfolio by making informed investment decisions. Students must research companies, analyse market trends, assess risks and consider how current events influence share prices. With the game mirroring the real Australian sharemarket, including live market prices and trading hours, it offers an incredibly authentic, hands-on learning experience. It doesn’t get much more real-world than that!
Through careful research, strategic thinking and some impressive investment decisions, this dedicated Year 11 student rose to the top of the Queensland rankings and secured second place nationally, earning a $1,250 cash prize and a certificate recognising their remarkable achievement.
We are incredibly proud of all our Year 9–12 students who embraced this fantastic learning opportunity, putting their financial literacy, critical thinking and decision-making skills to the test.
A particularly huge congratulations to the Year 11 award winner for this extraordinary accomplishment! With investment instincts like these, perhaps we have a future stockbroker or investment guru in our midst!
Congratulations on an outstanding achievement!
