We’re delighted you’re considering MIC for your family.

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. At MIC, we partner with families to nurture confident, capable and compassionate young people through an authentic Montessori education from Children’s House to Year 12.

Whether you’re just beginning your research or you’re ready to apply, we’re here to guide you through each step of the enrolment journey.

Your Enrolment Journey

All families considering enrolment at MIC are encouraged to watch the following video Trevor Eissler “Montessori Madness!” – 321 FastDraw to gain an understanding of the Montessori Education method before booking a tour.

Please read these useful articles to help you decide whether MIC is the right fit.

1. Is Montessori right for my child?
2. How to Montessori at Home (it’s not what you think)

The best way to experience Montessori education is to see it in action.

We encourage all prospective families to attend one of our College Tours, where you’ll explore our beautiful campus, observe authentic Montessori learning environments, and meet members of our leadership team.

When you’re ready, complete an Application for Enrolment.

  • Application fee: $220 per family
  • Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Please note: Our preferred entry point into the Adolescent Community is Year 7. Enrolment in later year levels is subject to availability.

When an application is received by MIC, the student will be placed in the waiting pool for the nominated year. Whilst MIC will endeavour to offer enrolment to students in the waiting pool, this may not always be possible. Any application in the waiting pool that is not offered a place in the desired year of enrolment will remain in the waiting pool for a period of 2 years or until the first refusal of an enrolment offer. An important condition of being in the waiting pool is to keep MIC up to date with school reports / NAPLAN results to ensure the student’s application remains Current.

Enrolment Applications will be reviewed by the MIC Principal or their delegate and one parent will be invited to attend a classroom observation (compulsory). The attending parent agrees to strictly adhere to the College’s Classroom Observation Etiquette & will complete a Classroom Observation Form where a copy will be taken at Reception and retained as a required component of the student’s application file.

Following receipt of your application, we’ll invite your family to meet with a member of our leadership team.

This relaxed conversation gives us the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about your child
  • Understand your family’s educational goals
  • Answer your questions about Montessori education
  • Ensure MIC is the right fit for your child and family

Our Enrolments Committee carefully considers every application.

This includes reviewing:

  • Application documentation
  • Supporting information
  • Meeting notes
  • Any pre-placement observations (where applicable)

The committee meets twice each month.
If a place isn’t immediately available, your child will be placed on our waitlist and we’ll keep you informed.

If a place is available and your application is successful, you’ll receive:

  • Offer of Place
  • Contract of Enrolment

To secure your child’s place, please return the signed contract within 14 days, together with:

  • $400 non-refundable Placement Fee
  • Enrolment Bond equivalent to one term’s fees

If we’re unable to offer a place, we’ll notify you in writing.
