In the preschool (or Early Learning) classrooms, children who are not yet school age work alongside each other in multi-age learning spaces. Montessori philosophy recognises that these children have an inherent urge to learn and to master all that is in the environment around them. The Montessori learning context invites these children to apply their creative energies to master skills which develop their ability to think, understand and concentrate.
As some families prefer flexible options, we offer part-time options for 3 and 4 year olds. Although we believe full-time is best we also offer:
- 3 year olds – either 2 days per week, 4 days per week or 5 days per week
- 4 year olds – either 3 days per week or 5 days per week.
Parents are given the option to choose what is best for their family.
Students spend two years in their Early Learning class before moving to one of the standalone Prep classes for the final year in the 3-6 Early Years community.
Our Early Learning service has achieved an overall rating of Exceeding NQS (National Quality Standards) by the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). More information about this rating is available on the ACECQA website.
