Why are you involved with Montessori education?

I love the responsibility, respect and choice that is facilitated to each child and the conceptual understandings about the world and its processes that is a foundation to the learning and new discoveries that each child has.

How would you describe what you do?

As the classroom assistant in Beerwah, I work with Maria (the class Guide) to set up the classroom environment as an enticing provocation that encourages curiosity and problem solving, and facilitates and develops a love for learning.

What’s your favourite thing about your role?

I love that I get to be a part of each child’s learning journey and see the excitement, the ‘lightbulb’ moments and the challenges in between.
