Why are you involved with Montessori education?
I want to be able to give my children the opportunity to learn in an environment that supports and nurtures their freedom to be themselves, at their level and to learn at their own pace without pressure to perform academically at an institutional level. My hopes for them is to know their precious place in this world, to be brave, kind and compassionate. Montessori gives them the space and support to be who they truly are without fear, which is a the best foundation to a future of endless possibilities.
What year did you commence at MIC?
I joined MIC as a parent in 2012 and starting working in the office in 2014.
How would you describe what you do?
I support the awesome team in administration. I do all the little things for them so they have the extra time and space to focus on the big things – their amazing behind-the-scenes work in running our beautiful college.
What’s your favourite thing about your role?
Being an advocate for Montessori, and being able to help out my colleagues in the office, developing relationships with the teachers and children, and connecting with like-minded parents.
