Auditions are not meant to be a scary thing. It is an opportunity for performers to show the Creative Team what they can do so that they are cast in the most appropriate role. All students who audition will be in the show – just not necessarily for the character they audition for.

Many factors are considered when casting, including simple things like height, singing voices and singing, acting and dancing ability.

Call Backs

Call Backs are for the Creative Team to further see students in a particular role before casting the show. Aladdin Jr Call Backs will be on Tuesday, February 16 from 8.30am with the cast announced at the first rehearsal on Wednesday, February 17.

Auditioning for Ensemble Roles

The ensemble of Aladdin plays an integral part to the storyline and is sure to have fun performing in a number of scenes and songs. The ensemble cast is featured in every large musical number including songs such as ‘One Jump’, ‘Friend Like Me’ and ‘Prince Ali’.

Students auditioning for an ensemble role are asked to familiarise themselves with the song ‘Prince Ali‘. Students will also participate in a group dance audition as well as a group vocal audition.
